3D Printing: Design, Create & Bring Your Idea to Life!

In this hands-on workshop, students will discover how 3D printing is transforming industries—from engineering and manufacturing to medicine, architecture and product design.
Using beginner-friendly Tinkercad modelling software, students will learn how to create their own three-dimensional design and take it through the exciting process from digital concept to physical object.
Along the way, students will explore:
• How a 3D printer builds an object layer by layer
• How digital designs are prepared for printing
• The temperatures required to safely melt and shape filament
• Different printing materials and their real-world uses
• Prototyping, problem-solving and the industrial design process
• How designers test and improve their ideas
Each student will create their own project and will be able to take the finished printed object home.*
All computers, 3D printing equipment and filament are included.
Duration: One day, 9:00 am–3:30 pm
Class format: In-person workshop
As 3D printing can take several hours, some projects may not be completed during the workshop. We will contact you when your child’s printed object is ready to collect.
